The things I do…

Remember the mittens I wanted to make? Ripped them. I knit, re-knit, and knit again four times. Switched pattern, rinse and repeat. I finally frogged completely and gave up for another day. The mittens were kicking my butt so I set them in time out for a while. Probably a long while. At this moment I can’t even look at the stupid yarn with out getting aggervated. (or talk about it either apparently) So I decided to make the Febuary Lady Sweater by Flint Knits (based on the Febuary baby sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman) I am going to make the sleeves full length rather than 3/4 length just because I think that mom would like the full length better. I think that she would be more apt to wear it. I will post a picture once I have more done. Right now it is garter stitch gusset work which is not all that interesting to look at. It is coming along at a decent pace, so as long as I don’t get overly interested in anything else I should be fine. I also found a rag doll pattern that I plan on buying some material so that I can make some little girls some dollies for Christmas. I am thinking the Princess and 2 of my neices would love dolls. Plus they will be easy to make. Nothing like saving myself money for Christmas. The pattern for the sweater was free, and the yarn was all ready in the stash, the doll pattern is a free pattern, and material that I will need for them will be pretty inexpensive. I could even buy some extra fabric for clothes and still have their presents this year be tons cheaper than the toys that I bought for them last year. Plus i am using stash yarn for the multitude of wash cloths that i will be making in the next few months. ( seriously, no money on washcloths, the soap that I plan on buying will be 7.00 a bar and they are big bars so I will be cutting them in half) The people that are getting washcloth soap combination are people that we normally buy things for so honestly we are looking at over 100.00 that we won’t have to worry about finding this year. There are a few more gifts that I have going but I know that the giftee reads this blog on occasion so that will be kept quiet until after Christmas. I am hoping that I have given myself enough time to get it all done this year. With the exception of the sweater every thing else is quick crafting so I remain optimistic. (also thinking that ugly dolls would be very easy to make. Art girl wants on badly but 40.00 a doll is too much for something that I could make myself)

On a completely different note there is a woman in the blog o sphere that has been creating outfits and then giving them away. Her latest one here is amazing! Can you just imagine the Princess in that?!?! I see a very slim chance in winning (we are talking 1 in 1,000,000) but it’s worth a shot. This woman is incredibly talented and giving. I wanna be her when I grow up!

Hopingly,

Dee
