Really. Why buy from big box stores? You don’t even need to be a crafter to appreciate this movement. Big box stuff is normally Quickly breakable crap. This is why I have decided to try to make as many things to give out for Christmas. It’s better on my pocketbook, and when I buy handmade I normally think about the person a bit more than if I ran to the big box store and grabbed something off the shelves. It’s more personal.
There are plenty of sites out there that sell handmade stuff. Etsy being a big one. The number of indie crafters on etsy trying to make ends meet is extremely high. Seriously. There is a plethora of different items available there, from the crazy, to the meaningful. There is something for everyone there. Just go and surf you will see what I mean.
